Matching App

A purple background with text saying RodentBesties in white color.

I wanted to create a matching app that matches you with a rodent as they are the best type of pets. The intro screen has the company name “RodentBesties” and a purple background. The person would log in or sign up and take a quiz on the questions page to see what rodent aligns with them the most. The results page would give them a break down of the best rodent pet for them. A Discover/Home page with different cards with pictures of the rodents and a match percent and distance you are from each pet. When you press on one of the cards it takes you to the selection page which gives you options to heart the pets that you like best and to see more information or to leave the page. If you want more information about the rodent it will send you to the information page with the rodent’s name, personality, age, breed, and gender, also an adopt me button so you can buy the pet. And lastly, a messaging page to message the shelter or vet if you have any questions about the process or pet. Also there is a location page to determine the shelter to go to and to determine what rodents you will be offered.

Language Learning App

A logo of a green mechanical pencil writing and text reading IntelliLanguage.

In Angelina Pecoraro’s class we created a language app. On the intro screen I created a logo of a pen writing to connect to the language/writing theme and made the company name “IntelliLanguage”. I creating a typical log in and sign up page. A language picker page to pick the language or languages you want to study. A reminder page to remind you when to study. A page where it asks you if you know some of the language and if you do it takes you to more advanced topics. On the home page I made the major four categories of any language learning resource which are writing, pronouncing, grammar, and vocab. I also added a test taking option to make sure that they understood the section before moving on to the next one. I used French as the example language as I understand a little bit of French. For the pronouncing/vocab, writing and grammar page I created a list of general topics that you can learn about. I find learning apps to mostly think about writing skills but I wanted to create a learning tool that records your voice and tells you if you pronounced it correctly because that is really important too for languages. Each category has sections based on different topics like weather, time, etc. It also has a reading page where you can read the information to learn about it instead of doing quizzes and tests. If you finish the quizzes and readings of a topic you can take a test which is longer and you can’t move on if you fail. For the quiz page it tells you if the answer is correct or not and you can redo it, you can get pronouncing questions where you speak into a microphone to see if you said it right, writing questions where you write the answer, and multiple choice questions. If you finish a test on the test page and succeed at it you can move on but if you don’t you have to take the test again. The test/quiz results page gives you a full break down of what you missed and what you need to work on. The ranking page makes it more fun to use the app because you get awards if you get first, second, or third place by completing exercises, quizzes and tests. A profile page has a progress bar for each language your studying and the typical settings information.

Donut Delivery App

A logo of a chocolate donut with sprinkles and a pink background. Written is Exceptional Donut.

I love donuts and any dessert so I created a donut delivery app featuring donuts. The intro screen has the company’s name “Exceptional Donut” and a donut logo with sprinkles on top. The sign up and log in page have the usual input fields. The home page has featured donuts you can scroll horizontally with, and underneath you have a favorites section with the donuts you love the most. The structure includes a picture of the donut in a circular frame, the name of the donut, the rating of the donut and next to the rating is the price. When you press one of the donuts you get a selected item page with a bigger version of the photo and a description of it. You can customize the donut order by adding fix-ins. When you go to the check out page you see every donut you picked and you can multiply the order if you want to. Underneath that is the cost plus any add-ons and the tip. A location page if you want someone to deliver your donuts and the donut shops location if you want to go and get it yourself. It also has some information about the driver including their name. The payment page is where you can add payment options and a confirmation page that tells you when the donuts will be ready to pick up or when they will arrive.
