About-Blake Nolan
My Story of Web design starts when I was in high school, I took multiple art classes including a graphite, charcoal, soft pastels and acrylic painting class and fell in love with the artistic world, I decided I enjoyed painting and drawing but they were not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I got interested in Mimo in 11th grade, it is an app that teaches people how to code in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL. I enjoyed the coding a lot and my aunt told me about a Udemy course that teaches web development. I did A Udemy Web Development course with Angela Yu. I learned way more about HTML,CSS, JavaScript, and how to connect the JavaScript to your html. I also learned React to help make complex UX/UI functionality on my website, grid and flex box to create layouts on the website as well. Later I found a UX/UI design course on the more you might like area of Udemy and was intrigued so I got the course and was instantly hooked by it. The course was User Experience Design Essentials – Adobe XD UI UX Design. I then left high school and went to college at Pikes Peak State College where I took a UX/UI design course taught by Angelina Pecoraro where we learned how to create prototypes, wireframes, user flows, and user research for example, the SWOT analysis(strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats). She taught us Figma so I know XD from the Udemy course and Figma from her class. I have also taken an Illustrator class with Betsy Tuma where we learned how to use vector tools to create vector art and logos and a photoshop class with Jenna Shearn where we learned to clean up/retouch photos, photoshop images, add textures to words and letters, and alter images to make them monochrome but keep parts of the photo original to bring those subjects out and give them more importance. I took a Web Design course with Christopher Swanson learning even more HTML and especially CSS.
